Welcome to The Suffolk Sports Forum - The forum in it's present guise was launched in December 2008 by Jamie Versey & Graeme Connor. We started out as a club forum solely for Felixstowe Harpers Football Club back in 2006. As time went on the forum grew and we made the decision to become "independent" from any club or association and branch out on our own.
The decision has proved to be the right one as we continue to grow in both membership and in stature. Last February we successfully staged a darts open in Felixstowe and work is under way to stage another in 2011. We will also be sponsoring a Suffolk county lady dart player in 2010/2011 as well as sponsoring football matches and we are looking into the possibility of purchasing a kit for a Suffolk based team. More information on this idea will be released later in the year.
Both Graeme and myself would like to thank you for your continued support of this website and hopefully you will all help us in going from strength to strength.
Thank you,
Verso

Contrasting types of matches on Wednesday (21st July) and Thursday (22nd July), against the MSC Suffolk Cricket Alliance Over-50's and the over an Eight Ash Green XI on Thursday. At Easton we elected to field first in the 45 over match as then saw Simon Halliday hit 73, and S.Cooper, 59, helped the "home" team reach 216-7, Edgar Dunkley and Steve Bulger each taking three wickets. The Two Counties team did not make a particularly bright start, but the partnership of Steffan Marks, 73, and Graham Penny, 70, changed the outlook from which Ian Johnson and Bob Richards guided us through to 217-7 with two overs to spare. Certain different conditions atr Eight Ash Green on Thursday, where the ball, by and large, dominated the bat. This time the Two Counties team batted first, and through intermittent showers we closed with 154-9. Mark Paget top scoring with 38 not out, with Ian Robison adding 27 early on. Merreiday, Aston, and Guthrie each taking two wickets. Eight Ash Green found run scoring even more of a testing proposition. John Stonehouse almost batting all the way through for 36 as they were dismissed for 88. Ian Johnson was in inspired form with 4-20, and Martin Southwell taking over at the same end and taking 3-22. Both of them were assisted in some small part by the catching. Jonno taking one brilliant caught and bowled, but elsewhere in the field Steve Isaac took three catches from first slip and Jon Wiseman two at mid-off.
